Development of dvd sleeve

The first stage of creating my DVD sleeve was to replicate the background and Jamie onto the front cover of the DVD sleeve so it matched the poster i created first.

The second stage was to type out the title and tagline in the same fonts as i used on the poster and kept them in the same position. I then reduced the size of the font so that it fitted onto the front over.

The third stage was i added the the review and stars at the bottom of the page to make the dvd look authentic, i also used the same font as on the DVD poster.

The fourth stage of development was to add the bbfc age rating at the bottom right hand corner, The production company logo, and dvd logo on the bottom left. To make the DVD sleeve look as authentic as possible.

The fifth stage was that i added the title, bbfc age rating, production company, and dvd logo down the spine of the DVD sleeve, So that it matches the Front of the DVD sleeve.

I then added the barcode and age rating that explains why it is an 18, I placed them either side of the back of the DVD sleeve to make it look realistic. The next thing i did was to add various different logos    in-between the barcode and age rating to make it look like a real Dvd sleeve.

I then added the credits and the special features, this was to give my DVD sleeve depth and make it look a lot more interesting.

Next i added the images (stills from the film) to the back of the DVD sleeve. Using drop shadow and outer glow i gave the images a red, dirty looking border to keep the images in theme with the film which is horror and to also give the back of the DVD sleeve character.

I also added the blood to the top of the page using the paint brush tool to bring the DVD sleeve to life as though somebody has bled over it.

Then i did to finish this poster was to add the blurb which summarises what the film was about. I used the colour red so that it matches the colour scheme which is Black, Red and White, It also correlates with the theme of the film.

Finally i changed the font on my blurb to orator std due to the font being unreadable previously to this. I kept the same colour so that it stayed in theme with the film and so it looked dark and evil. I also added 'EXTREME EDITION' to the top to give the DVD more content and give it more to a horror feel to it.
